ジャクソンポロックなどで知られるアクションペインティングを突き詰め、行き着いたのが、一滴の雫のみのdripingで無限の可能性を産み出す。という表現。
アクションペインティングは本来大きなキャンバスに勢い良く絵の具を投げ付けるものだが今作品は張り詰めた緊張感の中で一滴のみを落とすという、今までのそれらとかけ離れた行為である。
こうして落とされた雫をデジタルデータ化し、拡大するとそこにはミクロン単位程の目に見えない埃、チリが現れ、それらを全て取り除き、最後に真円にトリミングする。この際の真円のトリミングがさらに無限大の可能性を産み出すのである。
荒々しさと不確定要素の入り混じったドリッピングをトリミングする事によりそこに洗練されたデザイン要素が加わり、ある種攻撃的なアート色が緩和され他ジャンルとのコラボレーションを容易にする。
小さな物を効率的に扱うというミニマルな表現が日本的であり、球状のマーブルのフォルムが飴玉などのお菓子や鞠などに例えられ、どこか懐かしく日本的な雰囲気が感じられる。
Jackson Pollock was known as an action painter and by investigatinghis art, I came to a conclution where a single drip has an eternal possibilities.
action painting is originally drawn by throwing paint energetically on canvass. whereas in this work one single drip is dropped in a tense feeling. This is very different actions than before.
So after making this marble it will be scanned and take off the dust then expand the data, make it into a perfect circle. So that it could be used on eternal possibilities.
By trimming the rough and indefinate marbles, it joins the refine element in a way this aggressive colors become relaxed and can be used to collaborate with others.
This is in a way, feels Japan using the mArble efficiently. The structure of this marble reminds of the candy and Japanese traditional ball called Mary.
