Born Under the Black Sun

Born under the Black Sun, are they the product of prophecy - true or self fulfilled? The Witcher franchise is one of my favorite fantasy worlds (both literary and in games), and I was always fascinated by the role of prophecy in it, especially the question of its legitimacy.
