Brief concept description of the submitted project/idea
In recent years, seagrass has been affected by seine fishing, marine eutrophication, man-made destruction, etc. Therefore, I designed a seagrass restoration pot, which is made by the silt in reservoir. The structure can protect the seagrass, the reservoir silt can absorb surplus nitrogen in the ocean so as to prevent eutrophication. The silt soil in the pot can stabilize the seagrass more effectively than regular sand. At the same time, the modularized potted plant can be applied to the coastline efficiently, in order to accomplish fast restoration of the seaweed bed.

Detailed description of the submitted project/idea
Seagrass plays an important role of carbon sequestration, which can reduce global warming. Seagrass are distributed along 159 countries’ shore line, and its’ carbon sequestration rate is 35 times higher than tropical rainforests.
However, due to the development of coast lines, many seagrass beds have been damaged. Therefore, I designed a seagrass restoration pot, which is made by reservoir slit. The pot structural is solid, and can protect seaweed from fishing nets and boats' damage.
The pot can absorb the surplus nitrogen in the ocean. Besides, because of the sticky feature of the reservoir silt, the seagrass can growth in the pot firmly. Overall, the reservoir slit pot not only provide seagrass a great living environment, but also solves the problem of excessive sludge in the reservoir. -
