Terraphonias
This project is born from the question of how radical and speculative thinking and environmental humanities can be tools to approach possible alternative ecologies, ethical and affective practices in the intimacy of terrestrial processes and their environmental problems?
Terrafonias is a mechano-sound installation that explores the ecology of soils through the study of the atmospheric carbon cycle. CO2 takes on special relevance in this project because of its effect on the planet's climatic conditions caused by anthropic activity, considering that it is a long-lasting gas. However, plant formations and rhizospheric territories act as important carbon sinks through their main vitalities, such as photosynthesis and nutrient fixation in the humic biomass. CO2 uptake and organic chemical intra-ations of terrestrial ecosystems constitute an important component in the overall balance between soils and skies.
