学生時代、私はパン好きが高じて、パン屋でのアルバイトを経験しました。その日々の中で、パンの魅力にとりこになりました。「パンは食べることはもちろん、人を幸せにする不思議な魅力がある。」という作家自身の考えから、パンの可能性を追求する過程で生まれたのが、今回の作品です。

パン屋での勤務中、大好きなパンが無駄に捨てられることに疑問を抱き、それを何かに生かす方法を模索し始めました。勤めていたパン屋で残ったパンを持ち帰り、様々なパンを用いた作品を考案する日々が始まりました。薄くスライスして顕微鏡で観察したり、パンに生えるカビを研究したり、森に連れて行って写真を撮ったりしました。

ある日、フランスパンのクラム（パンの中身の柔らかい部分）をくり抜いて食べる実験をしていたときのことです。薄くくり抜かれたパンに西日が差し込み、パンが光ったように見えた瞬間がありました。その瞬間に「これだ！」と直感しました。すぐに手元にあった卓上ランプでパンを照らしてみると、驚くほど美しく光るパンが現れました。

「パンの可能性」を追求する過程で、私は光るパンを見つけたのです。


When I was a student, my love of bread led me to a part-time job in a bakery. During those days, I fell in love with bread. The artist's own idea that "bread is not only good for eating, but also has a mysterious charm that makes people happy" led me to pursue the possibilities of bread. This work was born out of the artist's pursuit of the possibilities of bread.

While working at a bakery, he wondered why his favorite bread was wasted and thrown away, and began to search for a way to make use of it in some way. He began taking home leftover bread from the bakery where he worked and devising works using various types of bread. He sliced them thinly and observed them under a microscope, studied the mold that grew on the bread, and took them into the woods to take pictures.

One day, we were experimenting with hollowing out the crumb (the soft part of the bread's interior) of French bread and eating it. There was a moment when the western sun shone on the thinly hollowed-out bread and the bread seemed to glow. At that moment, I had a gut feeling, "This is it! I had a gut feeling. I immediately lit up the bread with a table lamp that I had on hand, and loaves of bread that glowed surprisingly beautifully appeared.

In the process of pursuing "the possibilities of bread," I discovered glowing bread.

「本物のパンのライト」という全く新しい作品です。素材であるパンは、活動拠点でもありパンの街としても有名な神戸を中心に、約１０店舗ほどの協力ベーカリーからロスパンをなるべく高い価格で買取し、加工しています。

【for Planet】
パンの街神戸から発信する、新たなパン文化の提案。
食べ物として大切に美味しくいただくことも重要視しつつも、「パン=アート」という新たな視点を与える作品となっています。
また、くり抜かれたパンは衛生基準をクリアするものはラスク形を変え販売もしており、最後の最後まで多面的に「パンを味わい尽くす」ことを大切にしています。

【for Profit】
当社はパンを「作品」としてアップサイクルしているため、一般的なパンの二次販売よりも高値で買い取ることが可能で、ベーカリーにとっても嬉しい持続可能性の高い仕組みになっています。
また、いち作品として終わらず継続的に利益を生み出すビジネスとして成立させるために、作品とプロダクトの中間と位置付け、複数の製造スタッフを雇用し半量産体制をとっています。


for People

for Planet
We propose a new bread culture from Kobe, the city of bread.
While emphasizing the importance of taking good care of bread as a food, the work also offers a new perspective of "bread as art.
The bread that has been hollowed out and meets hygiene standards is also sold in the form of rusks.

For Profit
Because we upcycle bread as a "work of art," we are able to buy it back at a higher price than in general secondary sales of bread, which is a highly sustainable system that bakeries are happy with.
In addition, in order to establish the business as a business that continuously generates profits, we employ multiple production staff and have a semi mass production system, which is positioned as an intermediate step between a work of art and a product.
