このデザインは、世界のどこでも採用できるという点で普遍的でありながら、それぞれの設置場所のアイデンティティを体現している。デザインの過程で、その場所の緯度と地元の食品廃棄物を適応させることで、固有性を生み出している。ジョイントの角度を、茶室が建設されるそれぞれの場所の緯度に関連付け、直達日射量を50%以上カットし、快適さをもたらす。
例えば、ヴェニスの緯度は約45度なので、そこで使用されるジョイントの角度は45度である）。
ベネチ庵では、イタリアで一般的な2種類の食品廃棄物であるパスタとコーヒーかすから作られた新素材を採用している。将来、部品が解体されると、棚、テーブル、椅子、その他の家具として生まれ変わることができる。

The design is universal in that its concept can by employed anywhere in the World, yet embodying the identity of each
installation site. Distinction is achieved through the adaption the location’s latitude and local food waste in the process of design. By associating the angles of the joints to the latitude of each site where the teahouse is constructed, the
eventual form sensitively responds to the environment conditions, controlling comfort levels by filtering the amount of
sunlight (for instance, the latitude of Venice is about 45 degrees, so the joint angles used there are 45 degrees).
Finding opportunity in garbage, local food waste is identified as raw materials for the components. This prototype adopts new materials, made from pasta and coffee grounds, two common types of food waste in Italy. Beyond the
exhibition, the components can be disassembled and given a second-life as shelves, tables, chairs, or other furniture.

「人と人とのつながり」について考える

Covidや戦争の影響で、世界は分断に満ちています。
お茶は世界各国で異なる文化を持ちますが、人と人とを繋ぐコミュニケーションのきっかけであることは共通しています。
Covidの影響は限定的になりつつありますが、世界情勢は決して万全とは言えません。
私たちは改めて人と人とをつなぐ場として茶室を作りたいと考えました。

 
「普遍性と固有性」について考える

このプロジェクトでは、コミュニケーションスペースとして茶室を、世界各地で展開可能な普遍性を持ち合わせていながら、かつ固有性を体現するものとして考えました。そこで着目したのは、地球の緯度と廃棄物です。ヴェネチアの緯度が約45度であることと、廃棄物にも地域性があることに着目し、イタリアの廃棄物（パスタ、コーヒー、コルク、紙）を建築材料として、茶室を構成することにしました。地域が変われば緯度・廃棄物が変わるため、ルールは共通しながらも、全く別の茶室が生まれます。緯度に合わせて透過度を操作することによって、光や風の制御も地域に合わせて適切に行うことができます。

 
「水」について考える

世界中で水不足が叫ばれています。ヴェネチアでも運河が干上がっていると先日日本でもニュースになっていました。一方でアクア・アルタによる浸水が度々起こっているというニュースも耳にします。
歴史を紐解くと、人類が住居を作るようになってからの建築史は、水をコントロールする歴史でもあります。木・金属・ガラス・石・タイルといった水に耐えられる材料が使われるようになり、世界中ほぼ同じ材料で建築物は作られています。時には水を欲し、時には抗ってきたのが人類です。ベネチ庵の上部構造はパスタや紙といった水に極めて弱い素材でできています。これらの材料に新技術を用いて耐水性を持たせました。この技術は、どんな有機物にも化学変化によって耐水性を与えることができ、その上やがては土に還る素材特性を持っています。
これにより、屋外に利用できる素材の可能性が大きく広がります。
もちろん、お茶も水がなくては始まりませんし、ベネチ庵はラグーンを臨む公園にあります。水からできたお茶を味わい、水を見、水に抗う新素材の茶室に包まれる。ビエンナーレのテーマである「Laboratories of the Future」にもぴったりの展示となりました。

 
「持続性」について考える

展示期間終了後は、廃棄物でできた茶室を分解し、家具として再構成できるようになっています。家具にする前提で部材寸法を決めていったので、家具だったものが展示期間中のみ茶室になっていたと言った方が良いかもしれません。会期終了後は、購入希望者の望む造形に組み替えて、棚やテーブルに生まれ変わります。ブロックチェーン技術を用いて、展示終了後にどこの誰にいくつの部材が渡ったかをトレースできるように考えています。また、同時に3Dデータも提供し、部材が足りなければ自分たちで3Dプリントなどで出力できるようにします。100%プロダクトでもなく、100%セルフビルドでもない、所有者が容易に手を加えられる愛着を生む家具です。


Consideration for [People to People relationships]
In the wake of events such as the outbreak of Covid and ongoing Wars, today's world remains divided. Tea plays a role in different cultures around the world, all of which have in common that it is a catalyst for communication that connects people.
While the influence of the pandemic has reached a limited extent, the global situation is by no means perfect. With this in mind, we wish to launch an initiative create a space to for people to connect.

 
Consideration for [Universality and Specificity]
This project envisaged the tearoom as a Communication Space, embodying a universality that allows for implementation in different parts of the world, while also embodying its specificity towards the local context. This led to a focus on the Earth's latitude and waste produced and eventually the adaptation of waste characteristic of Italy (pasta, coffee, cork and paper) as building materials to construct the Teahouse.
Modulating the permeability according to latitude enables the quality of light and wind to be controlled and adapted appropriately to the region. While the design parameters are common, with different geographical locations, the latitude and waste materials change, resulting in a tea house that is distinct to its context.


Consideration for [Water]
While concerns of Water Scarcity is widespread around the world,
Venice, a sea-bound city, is particularly deeply acquainted with Water, with the fluctuation between drying canals and flooding caused by the Aqua Alta.
Looking back in history, since humanity began building dwellings, architectural history has been marked in part by the control of water. Water-resistant materials such as wood, metal, glass, stone and tiles came into use, and buildings are made practically from the same basic materials all over the world.
In times, water has been desired while in other cases efforts were made to resist it.
The structure of the Veneti-An consists of materials such as pasta and paper, both of which are extremely vulnerable to water. A new technology has been employed to enhance water resistance of these materials. Through chemical processing, it renders any organic material water-resistant properties, whilst keeping the material's natural properties to eventually decompose back into the soil. This opens vast possibilities for materials suitable for outdoor use.
Needless to say, tea is never without water, and Venetian is set in a park overlooking the lagoon. Visitors are invited to savour tea made from water, gaze out at the sight of water and be enveloped in a tea house made of a new material that resists water. Fittingly, the exhibition displays the Biennale's theme, 'Laboratories of the Future’.


Consideration for [Sustainability]
Following the exhibition period, the tea house made of waste materials can be disassembled and reconstituted as furniture. The dimensions of the parts were determined on the premise of turning into furniture, or perhaps it would have been better to describe it as furniture transformed into a tea house for the duration of the exhibition only. The pieces will be reassembled into the form desired by prospective buyers and transformed into shelves and tables after the exhibition is over. Blockchain is being considered to enable tracing of where and to whom the components were passed to after the exhibition is over. 3D data will also be shared to enable the replacement and production parts by individuals, e.g. by 3D printing. This is neither 100% manufactured nor 100% self-built, It is a piece of furniture that allows for modification and addition of a personal touch.

世界中な都市が似通っていると言われて久しい。都市部の街並みを見回すと、大抵の建築物はガラス・金属・石で覆われている。似通ってくるのも無理はない。食品廃棄物は地域によって様々なため、固有性に満ちている。これらを建材として利用していくことで、その土地の地域性・固有性が増していくのではないかと考えている。
また、ベネチ庵は食品廃棄物を建材とする試行であり、世界で初めて食品廃棄物を構造体とした。

It has long been said that cities all over the world look alike. If you look around urban cityscapes, most buildings are covered with glass, metal and stone. It is not surprising that they look so similar. Food waste is full of specificity, as it varies from region to region. We believe that using these as building materials will increase the local and indigenous character of the area.
Venetian is also an attempt to use food waste as a building material, and is the first in the world to use food waste as a structure.

食品を建材とできることで、製造過程の大半を農業と兼ねることができる。

The ability to use food as a building material allows the majority of the manufacturing process to be combined with agriculture.
