Kawazu cherry
With the history of Kawazu sakura which took a picture in Miura-peninsusl Miura-city yesterday!
It's origin that Katsumi Iida in Tanaka, Kawazu-town, Kamo-gloup, Shizuoka found about 1 m of pulpwood accidentally in the weed in Kawazu riverside and planted it ahead of the garden in 1955. I bloom from 1966 and it has been called "Omine cherry tree" at first locally from the name of the finder's Iida family, after that is, it was revealed garden variety of the hybrid origin I didn't have by now by an investigation of art and science, and it was named Kawazu cherry tree in 1974, and it was designated as a tree in Kawazu-town in 1975. Pulpwood also exists in this place at present, and it's age of the tree 50-60 years current as of 2007. This cherry tree started to be multiplied from around 1968. Planting by townsman volunteers was spread in the town whole field from Kawazu river mouth of a river with wooden designation in the town.
