白糸の滝-Waterfall of white thread-（Shiraito）

落差は僅か3 m余りだが、幅は70 mに及ぶ。 地下水を源流
とする潜流瀑であるため、概ね流量は一定で濁らない、
そして晴雨にも左右されることなく常に幾条もの白糸のよ
うに清水が流れ落ちることから命名されたと云われている。
滝面は湧水を直下させるために、人工的に掘り込んで造成
されていると聞いて驚いた。
直ぐ下流にも人工の段瀑がある。
全景が庭園風のたたずまいではあるが周囲全体が深い森な
ので野趣に富んでいて私のお気に入りの滝の一つで軽井沢
方面を取材するごとに数知れず通って清々しいマイナスイ
オンをいただき英気を養う事にしている。

The flow rate is fixed and doesn't become impure for the most part.

It was dug artificially and was astonished to hear that it was developed because it was crowded for a waterfall face to make spring water fall plumb down.
There is also artificial stage Waterfall
in the lower reaches right now.
