Fried Chicken

When I was trying to find an idea for the light bulb, I remembered that rubber ducks are part of most baths around the world. They represent fun while being in the shower. However chickens are by far the most common bird species, and baby chickens are the cutest creatures in the world. They are mostly restricted to our kitchens. Nobody has paid attention to these creatures. We always tried to find design inspiration by the most exotic and complex plants or animals in nature while sometimes the most awesome idea its just in front of us.
When I am in Costa Rica, I saw tons of trucks full of chickens traveling to their last destination before they arrived to my kitchen. For all of the chickens around the world that have sacrificed themselves everyday for our delight of eating their delicious low-fat meat, I decided to create an ode to them in this light bulb. It represents not only their cuteness but also the main purpose of their lives: our food. This is why it’s called “Fried Chicken” because the electricity that passes through the core makes it “fried”. This light bulb is also a metaphor on the fact that roosters always crow at the anticipation of sunrise since they have an internal clock. “Fried chicken” will always bring you that sunrise no matter how dark the night is.
In summary, “Fried Chicken” is perfect for any household that has kids, a pop loving teenager, a goofy person or an animal lover. I can see it in the bedroom of any kid where “Friend Chicken” would always defend them against the most horrifying nightmares and monsters.
Some other advantages are:
• It’s unisex, so any gender can be identified with it.
• It’s also vegan. So, people who love animals but not their meat would love them to have in their studios or living rooms.
• It’s fat and gluten free. Even “meat lovers” would find it appealing since they are not going to gain any weight
