Ball intended to decorate Christmas trees.
The design is based on the Halftones technique, which is to distinguish between shadows and tones changes. Cuts are made leading to recognizable image of Christmas performed . The idea is to create depth and dynamism, projecting the image into several sections.
In the front of the ball, a reindeer head is appreciated. Similarly, the back of it correspond to the reverse image.
The object has a few hooks for hanging a string of lights on the tree itself . Thus, one of the bulbs will remain inside the ball illuminating. Thanks to the cuts made, the light will pass through them and the image will be expected.
The sections are held in place by three perpendicular hooks that will be attached by two other circular pieces.
The acrylic material has been chosen from 3 mm. My initial idea was to make wood 3 mm but , due to the parallel cuts , the object was too dark to cut into the laser cutter why I opted for the acrylic.
