LIFE-SIZE CARDBOARD IRONMAN
個人的なアートプロジェクトとして、等身大のダンボール・アイアンマンを作りました。
CGソフト、グラフィックソフトなどを使って設計図を作成。その後、レーザーカッターでダンボールを切り、接着剤やガムテープを使って組み立てました。胸の部品は3Dプリンターで作成し、目と胸はLEDで光るようにしています。
レーザーカッターや3Dプリンターというデジタル工作機械が個人でも利用できるようになったことで、ダンボールからアート作品を生み出すことが可能になりました。
このダンボールアート作品は、デジタルの力が個人のものづくりを劇的に変化させていて、アイデアを形にできる環境が整ってきていることを象徴しています。
"LIFE-SIZE CARDBOARD IRONMAN" is my personal art project.
I used 3dcg software, graphic software, etc. for the design. I cut several flat cardboards by laser cutter and built them manually. The circle part of his chest is made by 3d printer. I also installed the LED to his eyes and the chest part.
The digital fabrication machines like laser cutters and 3d printers enable common people to create the art work from the ordinary cardboard.
This art work represent the digital power dynamically changing our fabrication environment and cast our ideas into shape.
