Self portrait
This work was created by combining traditional art methods with high tech manufacturing methods. With the use of a 3D scanner an virtual model of my head was captured, which was edited with 3D modelling software. This model was sliced into a 100 different layers, which were cur out in cardboard with a laser cutter. These layers were stacked to create a physical three dimensional mold. Plaster was poured into the mold. After hardening of the plaste the mold was removed. The combination of plaster and cardboard creates an unique surface on the self portrait.
