Are consumers actually satisfied by products produced through mass production? While different consumers have different needs, mass production might not be the best procedure to successfully achieve those needs. How would it be if everyone could specifically design a product according to their specific needs? How would it be if each consumer can personalise the product that serve specific functional needs and meet with the unique taste. How great the consumer experience would be if the consumers get a chance to be involved in a production process?
Mass production and the use of standardised designs have been the main concepts among many industries in the last several decades. These concepts involves producing the same products in a large amount in order to benefit from economy of scale and to target a large group of consumers.
However, consumers tend to have different product preferences and tastes. That is to say, mass production and standardised designs might become outdated and will not match the present consumer behaviour trend.
The mentioned reasons lead to the new concept of the production machines and manufacturing equipments that are able to fully or partially customise the final products to serve different needs.
