Parametria most recent studies were the starting point of our creative process...
We intend to create a fully functional product that balancing the elemental and the extraordinary allow us to transform a purely technological concept into a tangible piece made of concrete. The Maya® software allowed us to explore parametric structures with properties that incorporate in our design. We chose a triangular pattern of high to low density for controlling access of light lattice manner, projecting interesting shadows between each surface.
A polygonal plane was conceived as the first procedure, creating a geometric grid that would allow us to handle each item individually. Polygons were designed and extruded to achieve the desired thickness.
Once the design stage was finished, a complete cutting pattern for manufacturing was generated. We implement 3D printing to print 96 triangles that were assembled by hand and taken for making combined molds. At the end, the concrete final piece was obtained in completely performed by traditional methods.
