Ricéenoir: Setouchi - Contours of Japan

Setouchi & Saké are both very much a part of Japan. The design I have created is inspired firstly by the Japanese flag. The Large circular “O” in the name, is representative of the Japanese flag. Drawing from the inspiration of the terraced fields and rice paddies which Setouchi is well known for, I created the “contour” lines pattern which is overlaid on to the packaging. I created a box that has a hole in the top, and the cap of the bottle is red which shows through the hole, created another symbolic version of the Japanese flag. The stylistic approach of the design, typography & illustration, is artistic and this is important as it matches with Mr. Souichiro Fukutake’s vision of bringing Art and culture to Setouchi.
