7. Teguri Soba

Product introduction
・Echigo Tsumari is famous for its textiles, and there is a tradition of using the sticky extract from seaweed ("funori") as a
binding agent when weaving. The paste is applied to the horizontal weft thread to give it shape. The founder of Kojiyama
turned to this funori paste and wondered if it could be used to make stronger soba noodles. After much research and
trials, the result was "funori soba."
・The noodles are made from Aonuma's "Toyomusume" soba flour, and the water used when making them comes from
an aquifer whose water source is pure melted snow, a tradition for over forty years. These noodles epitomize the spirit of
"local production for local consumption."
・You are asked to design the packaging for two products: a two-person serving of dried noodles, and the lid for a gift box
containing a three-person serving.
・In the event that your design is chosen, we will also ask you to add details to its description and assist in the design of
the food preparation.
・In the event that your design is selected, we may ask you to assist in the product development stage.
・Planned price: 400 yen(1 package) , 1,300 yen(1 box)
