Scholars of Sustenance Thailand

Food Rescue Foundation

Thailand / Bangkok

In 2016, SOS Thailand was established and pioneering our principles of rescuing surplus food and giving it to communities in Bangkok.
We have seen that around 35% of all food purchased in Thailand ends up in landfills. The SOS food rescue program was known initially as a surplus food hunter program for a group of joined people to visit different hotels and restaurants to pick up surplus food and redistribute it to those who needed it.
Since its establishment until now, we have continuously refined our program to reach more undernourished people and prevent food from becoming waste systematically in Thailand. We employ the following pattern; interviewing stakeholders, shaping our operation, researching, setting hygiene standards for surplus food, etc. While carrying on our mission we have also reached out to more donors and wider recipients throughout the years. The Phuket branch was erected in 2019 followed by Hua Hin in 2020.
Currently, we are better known and recognized as Scholars of Sustenance (SOS), a food rescue Foundation, the leading food rescue organization that has evolved through the years. We are also working with many leading businesses in addressing food waste problems.
