Dan Kubo, an artist based in Tokyo, is known for his solo project called 1e1 (pronounced "jəl") and CHLRX (Chaleureux). He creates music that combines mainly hip-hop and R&B, with sounds that use his own compositional techniques in acousmatic music, which is considered a branch of contemporary music.
He released his first EP, "Quartier Latin," on October 31, 2018. Each release has been supported by many artists, and his first album, "Cryptobiosis," released in October 2020, was nominated for the Record of the Year Award selected by Seiho on the web media "Mastered."
His activities are not limited to music production, but also include production in the art field, mainly graphics and installations, and he has collaborated with Licaxxx, Kazuki Muraoka, and others.
He will release his second EP, "Asymptote," on August 14, 2024.
