Reincarnation II

Personally, I aim to do something out of ordinary in this project. For me, old people have a lot of story, every wrinkles every scar is their time scar and story, they are the one should never be forgotten. My character is inspired by the Japanese monster leader" Nurarihyon " . In my version, it's a different approach, he leads the dead soul to their last and give them an end and a new beginning. The main character in my story, long headed is to symbolize his wisdomness, white eyes symbolize spiritual and unpredictablenes. He brings calm and peace to the dead soul and let them rest in peace. The smoke pipe was inspired by the shape of a batik medium call " canting ", it used the smoke to write down spell and control the emotions of the soul. For style approach, I've tried to use digital to do traditional inking style to make you feel like they are visually from an old scroll. I actually blends in a lot different culture for this pieces to make a break through.
