BE O Lifestyle is a company that makes everyday products, made from plants. The BE O cup, their second product, is made from use plant-based cooking oils. this is a bio-polypropylene. This means that the petroleum component of the plastic has been replaced by a renewable resource. The BE O cup is made of a second generation bio-plastic. This means that it is not only renewable, but also a waste stream. This waste is collected from various companies in the food industry, such as restaurants.
With this biobased material in the cup, we reduce the CO2 footprint by more than 75% compared to petroleum plastic. And that's not all the numbers. We are working on life cycle analyses to calculate the entire footprint. Our first product, the BE O bottle, a reusable water bottle made from sugar cane, is climate positive! The BE O cup is made from renewable raw materials and is also 100% recyclable in the current recycling stream. The cup is easy to use day in and day out: it will last a lifetime. Even if something breaks, because the loose parts make the cup easy to repair. -

Therefore, it is made from a renewable resource, namely; used plant-based cooking oils, designed to last a life time, all parts are replaceable and therefore easy to repair and is 100% recyclable. In addition, the cup is designed and produced in the Netherlands and is assembled in a sheltered workshop

Globally, the world uses around 250-300 billion single-use and disposable coffee cups yearly. This has a major impact on the environment because it causes a lot of waste. Most cups also have a plastic layer, which makes them difficult to recycle. With the BE O cup we try to accelerate the transition from single-use to reusable.
With our material we save at least 75% CO2 compared to petroleum plastic, it is even possible to make climate-positive products. More co2 is absorbed during the growth of plants than is emitted during the complete transport and production process. We are still preparing an LCA for this
