A stone, a glass, a color, light or dark, the message: local.
My project is a search for natural colors based on stones from different regions of Israel.
From north to south, from east to west, the colors change, nuance, produce textures, bubbles.
After a year and a half of research, colors appear and so does this glass.
A naturally tinted and geo-localized glass: a glass made of stones.

Special Prize Question 1: How does your project or idea make use of local resources, such as materials and knowledge, to tackle its challenge?

My material has the particularity of using the most abundant resource in Israel, the stone.
My goal is to color the glass naturally and locally. The coloring is done in symbiosis with the creation of the glass.
Special Prize Question 2: How does your project or idea sustain its activities through the involvement of the local community?

For the moment, my project does not have a goal in the local communities.
However, the goal would be to represent each community with its own glass.
Special Prize Question 3: How does your project or idea eliminate waste or pollution while regenerating natural resources?

At present, the methods of coloring glass are not sustainable.
These methods, in addition to being toxic to use, are incapable of being recycled.
Indeed, after being tinted, it is impossible to make it become transparent glass again.
The objective was thus double. First, Salomé wanted to create a naturally colored glass. It was therefore necessary to find a material that served as a replacement for the dye in the glass. Secondly, this glass is intended to be local.
