We Make Our Own Luck Here

Four leaf clovers are a popular good luck symbol, they are considered a rare and exotic find. However, the four leaf trait is not caused by luck or magic, it is due to specifc quirks of biology and environment for the clover plant. This means we can take the production of luck into our own hands. I have been working with white clover (Trifolium repens) to identify factors that can affect the likelihood of four-leaf clovers being produced. I want to encourage people to question the meaning of luck as a mysterious outside force and consider how it is affected by material factors, for better or worse.
