Fusion is a realization of the concept of body sharing or the body as a surrogate for enhancing mutual communication and collaboration. With this surrogacy concept, our bodies become an extension and a vessel for other people, who also become strongly coupled with our bodies. Fusion is mounted as a backpack, providing two robotic arms and a head that a remote person can connect to and control. The remote person uses a Head Mounted Display (HMD) to see through robot head’s eyes and set of controllers for each hand to control robot’s arms. Using it, it is possible to collaborate and communicate effectively from the same point of view.
