According to a study by USAC (2014) in Guatemala City, approximately 222L / hab / day is consumed and WHO indicates that it should be 100L / hab / day. HidroSemaforo is a project to work with EMPAGUA (Municipal Water Company) and other groups (COMUDE, CODEDE, MSPS, neighbors committee) where the water bills obtained each month have a visual indicator that demonstrates their efficiency or inefficient water (Red - Yellow - Green), this with objective to raise awareness .According to studies of how much water should be consumed according to the members of each house and the average consumption that every home should have. This project can also be adapted according to the commercial / industrial sector and other types of institutions. The bill would have recommendations on how to reduce consumption and users who have a deficient consumption (red) could live experiential workshops to also raise awareness, in this way people can have a cronology in time of how is their consumption. As working with the government, this could be adapted depending to a new regulation (Water Law that Guatemala doesn't have) that could implement different prices for water services or even this idea help to promote this lack of water regulation by civil society.
