FoMo ; Eyelashes Flower
FoMo contemplate the balance between NATURE and the DIGITAL WORLD, nostalgia,superstition and wishful thinking that comes true or not
FoMo is a 3D printing flower, combined with more than 200 real eyelashes. Each eyelash contains a secret wish and a privet story.
What if we could read the wishes through the eyelashes ? What if we could make it true by connecting people to each other ? Do we all have the same basic wishes or is it very unique and private? How does the digital world affects the old tradition of superstitions and why do we still need it ? This project deal with questions about our social behavior and beliefs. superstition, and old customs changing through the years and being affected by the high technology and the possibilities it brings to our life.
FoMo is another step in my works of exploring the world of senses and emotions by using multi-disciplinary approaches to create new sensory experiences.
At the last three years I collected eyelashes from random people who decided to give me the rights on their wishes. Those eyelashes were attached one by one to the top of the 3D printed flower. I'm very interested on combination between natural materials and the digital world. combination of real human eyelashes with 3d printing brings many thoughts to my mind about our future and possibilities by using high technology.
