Overview of the Selectees’ Exhibition

The 10 works selected as selectees will be exhibited for six months, from April to the end of September 2026, at Common Nexus on Nagoya University’s Higashiyama Campus.

If your work is selected as a selectee, you will be asked to submit additional materials for the exhibition. This includes the work title, project description, profile text, and profile photo. Details and formats for submission will be provided after the selectees and Maxell Prize winners are announced. Templates for submission will be prepared by the organizers.

Selectee works are required to be physically displayed. Shipping costs for transporting the works to and from the exhibition venue will be covered by the Common Nexus Office.

Exhibition Space

  • Flat display surfaces (A1 size) and wall-mounted display areas (A1 size).
  • Each work will be guaranteed at least one type of display area, either flat or wall-mounted.

Exhibition Fixtures

  • Four types of polygonal display fixtures will be combined to create a larger “cluster-like” arrangement. The heights of the fixtures are: 450 mm, 900 mm, 1100–1200 mm, and 1800–2000 mm. The layout and arrangement will generally be decided and installed by the organizers.
  • The 1800–2000 mm fixtures have surfaces coated with galvanized steel plates, with an overall color scheme of gray to black to match the material. Therefore, the flat display surfaces also have gray-to-black tones.
    • Fixtures other than the 1800–2000 mm types are color-coordinated to harmonize with these larger fixtures.
    • Some fixtures incorporate mirrored surfaces, reflecting surrounding elements.
  • The floor where the exhibition fixtures are placed is a light brown material with a slightly yellowish tone.

Important Notes

  • During the exhibition period, staff will not be stationed in the exhibition area at all times, but several staff members will look around the facility.
    • Therefore, works should be able to be displayed safely without constant supervision.
    • If your work requires setup or takedown assistance, please consult with the organizers.
  • All works will be insured as a precaution.
  • Shipping costs and panel production costs (produced by the organizers) will be covered by the Common Nexus Office.
  • Selectees and their projects will be featured on the ComoNe website and social media channels.
  • During the exhibition period, selectees may be invited as guests to talk events or other programs, providing opportunities to present their work.
  • Works that contain hazardous materials, strong odors, or elements prone to decay are not permitted, even if they meet size regulations.
  • Works that emit sound, light, heat, or use highly flammable items (e.g., matches) that could affect other works may need to be adjusted.
  • Works that are intended to be touched or interacted with by visitors must be durable enough to withstand exhibition use.
  • Display arrangements (e.g., screens, monitors) will be discussed according to the work. Applicants may need to provide certain equipment such as PCs or speakers.
  • Because exhibition walls are placed adjacent to each other, works may be affected by the sound, vibration, or lighting of nearby works. Please be aware of this in advance.
  • The organizers will take utmost care in handling and displaying works; however, they are not responsible for damage caused by natural disasters or unforeseen events.
  • Commercial activity, advertising, or promotion for profit is strictly prohibited within the exhibition space.
  • The organizers are not responsible for any damage to works caused during the exhibition.
  • The location of each work will be determined by the organizers, considering the purpose of the exhibition, legal requirements, and safety measures.
