About processing and materials
Information on materials and processing, which is important when considering the design of leather slippers.
About material:
In this project, the upper (upper part) is made of non-dyed or unpainted leather, and the bottom part is made of floor leather (Tokogawa: the surface is rough). Since natural cowhide is used, there are individual differences in color and surface condition. The thickness of the leather is about 3mm.
Processing methods available for design:
1. Print artwork: UV printer
Graphics, photos and illustrations can be printed in full color on the upper and bottom surfaces. The printer uses Roland DG's high precision UV-LED printer "LEF-20". Image resolution up to 1440dpi.
* CMYK ink: transparent, so if you print directly, the color of the ground leather will overlap the print color. * About white ink: If you want to sharpen the color, you can print color ink on white ink. * About gloss ink: By overlaying gloss on color, you can make the print surface glossy. By printing with gross, you can make the printing surface “plump”. Gloss only printing is also possible.
2. Arrange the shape of the slippers
You can arrange it freely, such as opening the toes or changing the shape itself. If you want to arrange the shape, get the vector data from the app on KULUSKA's site and modify it. Adobe Illustrator or INKSCAPE (free software) is recommended for the modification software.
3.Engrave with laser cutter
Engraving with a laser produces a brand-like finish.
4. Manual customization
Embroidery, hand cuts, studs, etc ... Arrange freely.
* This time only use undyed leather. The following is a reference work produced by Mr. Kurska's previous workshop
5. Combine 1-4
Laser sculpture, prints, embroidery, etc .. Customize the design freely.

The upper color chart is for CMYK ink only, and the lower color chart is for CMYK ink printed on white ink.
About image editing software:
