Sphere 30

Through the years, man’s understanding of the circle has evolved substantially. The spherical form of the eye itself means that our visual information is literally taken in through a circle. The eye registers circular shapes and passes them directly to the visual cortex without intermediate processing. In this way circles are very easy for the brain to comprehend.
What we are seeing at any given moment consists of a center area in sharp focus and a peripheral area that fades to the limits of vision. Because the eyeball is spherical, the total area of sight, the visual field, is circular.

Sphere 30 continues this circular amenity and allows our eye to present the images directly to our brain and then our emotions.
Hoops of translucent silk reveal the varied layers and designs.
Rich hues of intense color stimulate the consciousness and assist in drawing attention towards the center of the piece.
These layers of delicate silk are suspended within a dissected sphere of stainless steel. Cantilevered over a highly polished base of metal, the sphere appears to glow from within.
The combination of the shape and the calming colors, interjected with bright accents, triggers a harmonious response from the viewer.
