Tylko is a start-up with a mission to digitize furniture industry. We aim at delivering perfectly fitted furniture in the easiest possible way. All of our pieces are made on demand with cnc machines. Tylko experience starts on the website - tylko.com - or the mobile app (Android or iOS). Users can choose a shelving system (Ivy Shelf) or dinning table (Hub) and start customising. Features include size (adjustable up to a centimetre), material, row heights and division arrangement controlled by “motion” slider for the Ivy Shelf and leg types for Hub Table. The mobile app is equipped with Augmented Reality (AR) component, which enables visualisation in real-life scale in users homes.
Product designers, parametric modelling specialists, digital fabricators and UX designers work hand in hand at Tylko to provide best customer experience. The interdisciplinary team involved makes sure that the user can’t make a mistake - every configuration possible to make in Tylko’s app will always work. It will be possible to produce, reliable when assembled, and aesthetic.
Parametric modelling in is at the very center of what we do. We are prototyping all configurators in Rhino Grasshopper. This script is then automatically translated into a code for web and mobile app using a parser built in-house. Such approach enables us to iterate our products on a daily basis based on user preferences. Our furniture is more like a software than hardware. All manufacturing, shipping and assembly data is generated automatically once an order is placed. Dedicated backend enables us to send data directly to the manufacturer of choice, who downloads it, makes the piece and then ships it directly to the customer.
Tylko launched at London Design Festival in September 2015 and is currently available in entire EU.
