Cockroach Flyer
This is a prototype of an edutech-toy: a combination of education, technology, and play, for elementary school children.
The toy itself has a very simple function. It senses people walking by, and shoots toy cockroaches at them.
Children will play pranks with this toy, which in turn will become a practice of how to make use of an existing technology.
In addition to the prototype, we also propose a school event called “Prank days”. This is a two day event where students compete how well they can surprise other students and teachers by using this edutech-toy inside their school building. Within the two days, children build the toy, plan and carry out the prank and go through many trial and error, all just by themselves.
This toy is for all elementary school students, but for the upper graders, we prepared an additional camera unit that can take photos simultaneously with shooting the cockroach; so that the children can expand their ideas and skills as they grow up.
