Purpose:
Our planet continues to suffer from unsustainable global consumption and lack of recycling. We live in a throw-away society, where buying new is cheap and keeping old is expensive. We are depleting natural resources and polluting all of nature. We buy things we don’t need and discard things others could still find useful. At the same time, Hong Kong is currently facing very difficult and depressing times due to social unrest, large-scale protests and the COVID-19 pandemic. How can we promote recycling while also bringing music and smiles to the people? FabCafe Hong Kong is establishing a new community of music and maker enthusiasts, who will create musical instruments from recycled electrical appliances.

Concept:
The barcoder will scan the lines made from the flowing liquid to generate interesting sounds. Experimentation with multiple factors such as viscosity and color of the liquid, hole sizes, rotation of the container etc.
