Brief concept description of the submitted project/idea
The Peggy Chair is made from 20kg of waste plastic. Crafted by the hands of Indonesian Artisans.
A true zero waste design. The offcuts within the making of this chair have been used as welding rods
to assemble the chair. No glue or nails have been used in the making of this chair.
The chair is multifunction, with under seat record (vinyl) storage. -

Space Available is on a mission to build a circular future.
We are collaborating and designing and for a better world
ISSUES WE ARE FACING
We are a brand from Indonesia and Mother Earth. There are two environmental issues that we are facing head on...
1. The plastic waste crises. This toxic material is suffocating our oceans and lands. We care deeply about changing the perception of ‘Waste’
2. Deforestation and the destruction of the wild life around it such as the Orangutans, who sadly are on the edge of extinction
How do we tackle these issues?
As a community of creatives we use design and culture as a vehicle for change.
1. Clean up plastic waste and recycle into a raw material; creating new circular products through meaningful collaboration . Our products are crafted by the hands of local artisans supporting the local craft community. We then open up the process to educate.
2. Invest time and financial resources into organisation’s that are fighting against deforestation and the survival of Orangutans.
The sale of our products helps us fund these actions. -
