OUT OF SIGHT

"OUT OF SIGHT" is a brand, created to change the way society perceives psychological disorders and those who live with them. Stigma exists around mental disorders and great part of this issue is because people hardly understand or empathize with what they can't see. That is why "OUT OF SIGHT" intends to simplify concepts and translate them to visuals to achieve a better understanding of these. It proposes making tangible what's invisible to the eyes by giving physical characteristics to anxiety and depression, representing symptoms and feelings of these through characters and spaces in a semi-immersive virtual reality. With this project we attempt to help people comprehend and step into the shoes of someone that lives with a psychological disorder and also try to make them unlink the person from it.

In the "OUT OF SIGHT" virtual reality, the characters and spaces were designed to represent anxiety and depression through their physical properties. There are 3 different spaces, the first is a neutral room where the characters of anxiety and depression are present and inactive. When one of the characters is clicked on, representing the activation of it, the space will transform shaping certain physical elements of the character in the environment. The physical characteristics of both the character and the space are a visual interpretation and representation of symptoms that relate either to anxiety or depression. The user is immersed in the virtual environment where the senses get stimulated to generate an emotional reaction with the intention of creating empathy and understanding towards the topic.

Likewise, as part of the brand, a series of products are also shown. These will serve as merchandise to contribute to brand recognition and the connection of the clients with the brand so that they feel identified with it. The intention is to create a community of respect, empathy and understanding towards psychological disorders.

Symptoms were OUT OF SIGHT, Anxiety was OUT OF SIGHT, Depression was OUT OF SIGHT...until now
