Daily Reportは、文章生成AIとLINEを用いた作品です。この作品では、ネット上に投稿された日記を学習したAIと、作者が3年にわたり書き続けている日記を学習したAIがそれぞれ日記の著者となります。それぞれのAIがLINEに生成した日記を投稿し続けますが、鑑賞者は日記がどちらのAIが書いたものなのかわかりません。しかし日記を読み進めていくと、作者を学習したAIの日記には、投稿時間の傾向、一貫性のある話題や特徴的な言い回しといった個性があることに気づきます。一方、沢山の人間が書いた日記を学習したAIの日記には、話題や文体は日々変化し、読み進めるほどに一人の人間らしさが感じ取れなくなります。結果、鑑賞者は少しずつ著者の判別がつくようになります。
この作品は、「人らしさの構成要素とは何なのか」という問いを出発点にして製作されました。人工知能は機械翻訳に見られるように、人間の知性の模倣を目的としておりそこに人間性が感じられるとは限りません。しかし、初音ミクやりんなのように、一人の人間としてキャラクタライズされた人工知能も存在します。では、AIが人との親和性をより高めるために知性以外に再現すべき要素とは一体何なのでしょうか。この作品では、不特定多数の人間を学習したAIと、作者のみを学習したAIの生成した日記の対比から、個性の有無が人間性の有無に直結することをDaily Reportの読者が検証します。

Daily Report is a project that two Artificial Intelligence generate fictional diaries. One was trained with a large number of articles posted on a blogging platform called “note” with #diary, and another was trained with diaries that the artist has been writing for more than two and a half years. Each Artificial Intelligence continues to post a journal to their LINE account daily, but we can not tell which AI wrote the journal at first glance. However, we would gradually be able to identify an author because we can sense the tendency of time to post and contents of the diary generated by the AI. We will use the two AI models to verify that not only intelligence but also individuality can be essential elements that constitute humanity.

本作品はLINE公式アカウントで作られている。展示の際は、デモンストレーション用のディスプレイ、操作方法の説明とキャプションを表示するipad、ディスプレイを制御するマシンにより展示される。
