Theme:[境界の再定義]
Our human world is a vast collection of opposites, and all decisions and desires that exist in life and everyday life, as well as social and artistic values, are all based on a pair of opposing structures. The act of drawing lines between things, which is necessary to establish such oppositional structures, is unique to humans and does not exist in the natural world; we unconsciously recognise things and then construct symbolic or mental demarcation lines, creating a map in our minds. Therefore, despite the fact that all boundaries are illusions, the relationships between 'self and others' and 'people and nature' in the modern world have boundaries, and the deep gulfs created by these boundaries make them seem like completely different things. I have a strong sense of discomfort with the phenomenon of 'conflict' or 'one side of conflicting events being worn away' caused by the oppositional structures created by such boundaries, and I aimed to redefine these 'boundaries' in this work, which was created on the theme of 'motherhood'.
