Circular flower pots - from waste to product.
The technological process developed by Deko Eko enabled the production of pots made of packaging foil (LDPE), used en masse in Castorama Polska stores.
Deko Eko has been running upcycling projects for years, giving new value to waste. For the first time, the company introduced a waste product to mass sale. It was an opportunity to popularize environmentally friendly habits among consumers, supporting the creation of sustainable homes and gardens. Castorama showed the employees the possibilities of recycling waste in the internal circulation of the company. We cooperated with Stena Recycling and ARS-HW s.c. on the project.
Deko Eko processed 20 tons of packaging foil, from which nearly 70,000 pots were made. Calculations by TerGo showed that circular pots significantly reduce the carbon footprint compared to standard, made of new raw materials. Currently, the company is developing the project, expanding the range of available products. Every major retail chain uses large amounts of packaging foil and various types of plastic, which is why the innovative practice of Deko EKo can change the approach of many companies to the problem of waste management.
The practice was described by media such as Dziennik Polski, Forbes and MamStartup, and it also reaches the podium of the GOZ Biznes Lider Małopolski competition.
