Product life cycles are decreasing, and users have lost their interest in using objects, with many of them meeting their end of life. This phenomenon shortens the replacement term of products and has a negative effect on the environment. 'Second Life of the Object' is a new approach to object design focused on the longevity of things.
The project explores the value of objects and studies the relationship between them and the surrounding environments or user. This gives new function and form to the mundane products that are no longer in use. Through this project, I investigate the culture of objects, such as where products live, what they are associated with, and how they are used. Through these playful experiments, we reveal the hidden lives of things from everyday items. Furthermore, users can experience the different ways to use and entertain new contexts.
