Detailed explanation of the submitted project or idea (in English or both English and your language)
A concept for how container ships should be designed to operate.
Design Characteristics
• The proposed concept consists of a deep-sea mother ship and numerous barges that are docked and undocked from the mother ship during the loading process.
• The purpose of the barges is to hold the containers during the transportation from one destination to another.
• The loading and unloading of the barges onto the mother ship is done by means of a loading dock at the rear of the ship.
• The barges are exchanged during the unloading and loading process which eliminates the need for the mother ship to be in port during the loading of containers into the barges.
• As the barges are unloaded, they become part of the wharf storage area for the containers they hold; the unloading of the containers from the barge can be done directly onto land transport.
• The barges are designed to be operated remotely with the ability to return to port if lost at sea due to the loss of the mother ship. -
How does your work address the 3 P’s (for Planet, for People, for Profit) for Sustainability?
P1. It eliminates excessive movement of containers and good on the wharf /port - no double/triple lifting - less energy used.
P2. It makes the transport and storage of containers/goods more efficient, faster and safer and eliminates the loss of containers at sea which puts other ships and sealife at risk. It also makes the delivery of items more efficient.
P3. It increases the efficiency of transport time and the safety which both reduce the emissions, cost and risk; all these factors have an effect on the cost of transport and the environment. -

Special Prize Question 1: Is there a mechanism in place to inherit culture and industry as assets for people living in that area 100 or even 1000 years from now?
YES
-
Special Prize Question 2: What is the positive impact on biodiversity? Is the project creating a cycle not just from a human-centered perspective but for the entire ecosystem?
It protects the environment by containing everything that is transported across the seas and completely eliminates losses at sea by using an automated return-to-port system.
The system will also help to get needed goods and services to undeveloped countries faster by instantly creating a wharf using the carry barges as a collection facility. -
Special Prize Question 3: Are you enabling new forms of collaboration with others? New forms of collaboration might include cross-industry cooperation, co-creation with consumers, or role transformations within the supply chain.
The system will create collaboration between many different industries in every country for global efficiency.
