広島県庄原市比和財産区の森林に自生するクロモジの徹底活用プロジェクトHiwa Property Waed KUROMOJI Project

• プロジェクトの主なフェーズ：
1. 持続可能な森林管理計画を採用し、自然再生期間に対応した収穫サイクルに指定された比和財産区の森林地域。生態系への影響と生物多様性の維持に関する調査に関して、アサヒグループホールディングスに森林保全連携を提案し、実施します。
2. クロモジを収穫し、蒸気蒸留法を使用して精油を抽出します。得られた香りのする蒸留水とエッセンシャルオイルコンクリートは製品としてアサヒグループや他の顧客（精油メーカー、道の駅、銭湯等）に販売します。
3. リグノマテリア社のプロセスに基づいてクロモジの副産物を利用します。得られた改質リグニンと副産物パルプは、広島や周辺地域の企業に販売され、地元産業振興に貢献し、環境への影響を最小限に抑えます。副産物パルプは、ヘミセルロース加水分解物を生成するためにさらに処理され、細胞の栄養としての糖（バイオ産業向けサプライ）を生成するための原料として使用されます。
4. CO2排出量削減クレジットを取得します。

•Main Phases of the Project:
1. Adopting a sustainable forest management plan, specifying harvesting cycles aligned with natural regeneration periods of KUROMOJI in the forested areas of Hiwa Property Ward. Proposing and implementing a forest conservation collaboration with Asahi Group Holdings for investigations related to the impact on ecosystems and the maintenance of biodiversity.
2. Harvesting KUROMOJI trees and extracting essential oils using steam distillation. Selling the obtained fragrant distillation water and essential oil concrete as products to Asahi Group and other customers (essential oil manufacturers, roadside stations, public baths, etc.).
3. Utilizing Crocodile by-products based on the process of Lignomateria. The obtained modified lignin and by-product pulp are sold to companies in Hiroshima and the surrounding areas, contributing to local industry promotion and minimizing environmental impact. The by-product pulp is further processed to generate sugars (supply for the bio-industry) as a nutrient for cells by producing hemicellulose hydrolysates.
4. Obtaining CO2 emission reduction credits.

現在資源として認識されていないクロモジの有効活用する事業自体が永く持続可能な産業として中山間地に根付くものです。
さらに既存の技術や市場ニーズの組み合わせと少しの改良で、そのような事業開発ができることを示すことも次の世代のアントレプレナーのロールモデルとなり、その面での貢献が非常に大きいと考えています。中山間地に生まれることがアドバンテージであると認識される時代を創出します。
1. 我々の事業計画における主な成果物である、香りのする蒸留水とエッセンシャルオイルコンクリート、改質リグニン、ヘミセルロース加水分解物、セルロースナノファイバー原料、CO2排出量削減クレジットを作り出すバリューチェインはかつて存在していませんでした。また出発点である天然資源は他所から搬入されるものではなく地元で自生するものです。また現金収入を得る機会い乏しい地域における新たな就業機会でもあります。これらの組み合わせは、新しいパートナーシップのデザインを要求されます。我々の事業の確立そのものが、新しい他社との協働のかたちの実現です。The value chain that produces our key deliverables in the business plan—fragrant distilled water, essential oil concrete, modified lignin, hemicellulose hydrolysate, cellulose nanofiber raw material, and CO2 emission reduction credits—did not exist before. Furthermore, the starting point is natural resources that are not brought into but naturally renewing locally. It also represents new employment opportunities in areas with limited chances to generate cash income. The combination of these factors demands the design of new partnerships. The establishment of our business itself is the realization of a new form of collaboration with others.
