MILK - 3Dlight
MILK
The milk is so white and creamy,
It makes me feel so very dreamy.
Dripping, soothing, refreshing, Milk is white like snow.
As cold as an iceberg in the Artic Sea,
Milk is so tasty to me.
Drink a cold glass of milk,
As it races down my throat like silk.
DESIGN
"Milk" is an upside down half sphere which ends by little drops.
This sphere is a thin hollow shell.
There is a contrast between the rigidity of the light structure and the fluidity / delicateness and smoothness of the "Milk" bulb cover.
"Milk" design will also contrast with the verticality and rigidity of walls.
"Milk" shape is freeze but seems to flow drop by drop like an unstable shape structure.
We have the feeling that the bulb light cover is melting and will drip on the floor.
We also have the feeling that electricity "create" this white liquid substance which flows all over the light bulb.
PROCESS
With the 3D printing process we are able to create anykind of complicated structure without process constraints.
In my opinion, it is essential to come up with a shape that you can not realise with traditional processes like injection or thermoforming.
Therefore, it would be a pity not to leverage this new technology to investigate into new product shape and structure.
ENVIRONMENT
The location of "Milk" would be suitable in a white immaculate environment.
It could be used in a kitchen, bathroom or toilets ceiling.
It can be also used on the living room ceiling which will match with white ceramics tableware.
MATERIAL
A white material would be the most appropriate to fit the milk color and creamy texture effect.
This white material would remind white ceramics used in refined tableware.
A clear material could be also used which will remind water instead of milk.
