「擬革繭」/REBORN LEATHERS FROM SILK WASTE MATERIALS」
This project focuses on raw materials that are not used industrially, such as expensive domestic silk thread, which is now a scarce commodity, and aims to make effective use of them. The project is working on the development of alternative products to leather using all kinds of secondary silk materials such as raw silk, kibiso and degara cocoons.
Our goal is not only to reduce the environmental impact of the production process from waste materials to new materials using dyeing and weaving techniques rooted in the Japanese climate, but also to make it a regenerative process that has a positive impact on the local environment.
