衣服やアクセサリーが私たちの周囲の感情や情動を感じ取ることができたら？ 私たちの衣服が、色や質感の変化を表現し非言語コミュニケーションにおける手段のひとつになるとしたら、どのような方法があるでしょうか？Emolleiaは、人々が非言語コミュニケーションを美しく行えるように支援する、インタラクティブなウェアラブルデバイスです。デバイスに搭載されたカメラによって、対話する人の5つの顔の表情（喜び/悲しみ/嫌悪/驚き/怒り）を認識・分析し、それに対応した、色と形状の変化を伴う表現ができます。このプロジェクトの目的は、ウェアラブルデバイスが自己表現の手段となることに加え、私たちの感覚的なコミュニケーションや体験の拡張可能性を探ることです。このプロジェクトは、機械学習を応用した表情・感情推定技術とスマートファッションアイテムのダイナミックな動作がもたらす可能性を探る試みです。

What if the garment could sense the emotions around us? In what ways our garment could become a non-verbal communication to express our feelings?
Emolleia is an interactive wearable computer to assist people to conduct non-verbal communication in a beautiful way. With the facial tracking camera equipped in the device, Emolleia can recognize and analyze to onlookers 5 facial expressions (happy, sad, disgust, neural and angry), and perform the corresponding animation with color change.
The goal is to explore how wearables can become not only a vehicle for self-expression but also an extension of our sensory experience of the world. This project is an attempt to explore the possibilities afforded by AI facial tracking technology and the dynamic behavior of a smart fashion item.

このデバイスは、花弁、ベース、そして体に固定するためのベルクロの3つの主要パーツで構成されています。花は硬度50A透明弾性樹脂で3Dプリントされた約6[cm]の5枚の花弁で構成され、茎の部分でケースに固定されています。
花弁は糸でベース内のサーボモーターと接続されていて、糸のテンションを制御することで、花が咲く動作を実現しています。これらの動作はM5Stackで制御され、接続されたサーボモーター(SG-90)により、独自に設計したサーボホーンが0〜180度の範囲で回転することで糸が巻き取られる構造になっています。
