REolivar, TRANSFORMATIVE PRODUCTS FROM OLIVE PITS

Others
REOLIVAR® by Naifactory Lab is a new line of circular materials that uses olive stone as a base, a very abundant by-product whose current use is basically burning for biomass, and for which Naifactory Lab have created a recovery process as a quality raw material. Spain is currently the world's leading olive producer and its industry generates 450,000 tons of pits each year. These pits are used as biomass, which generates carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere (1kg of olive pits = 1l of gasoline).

The basic mixture of ground olive stone with other natural ingredients can be formed into a wide variety of textures and appearances, depending on the amount and type of stone material used - granulate, powder or flour. The material can appear wood-like to transparent and is remarkably malleable. The biocomposite is available in different colors thanks to a dyeing process using only natural sources such asturmeric, avocado, indigo, and cochineal.

We've tested the material and found it to be strong and machinable like wood. More importantly, it solves its end of life, since it is 100% compostable and can be reused to produce new products by melting it again. Currently, the studio have created furniture, decorative objects, lamps, containers and other pieces that demonstrate the possibilities that REOLIVAR® offers as an alternative and real material for many sectors.
