Forgotten Sky /
Aug 2020 / 62 x 62 cm (Height x Width)
https://dolice.design/oblivion
Children today have no choice but to try to read the emotions of others through the cover of a mask. Their attempts to communicate are based on what they sense in the other person's eyes, or what feelings emanate and transmit from the other person's entire being. This artwork was created in the hope that soon we can see the smiling faces of children under bright blue skies, while knowing full well that those blue skies are probably already a distant memory.

The World in a Birdcage / 啓示
Aug 2020 / 60 x 84 cm (Height x Width)
https://dolice.design/birdcage
The white dove which appears in this artwork represents a revelation from the presence of a higher dimension. All people were born onto this earth for a purpose, each with an important role to play. To fulfill that role, or to even realize that purpose, is perhaps the greatest joy of living for most people. For example, even when hope is lost, that in itself has meaning, as there is God's love, and there is always salvation and guidance for all.

Reclining Buddha /
Oct 2020 / 100 x 80 cm (Height x Width)
https://dolice.design/reclining-buddha
I imagine the place of my birth to be so beautiful that I might mistake it for the cosmic ocean. The place at which I finally arrive, where I return. I can no longer hear that song anymore, and I cannot even remember that beloved, nostalgic voice. One day, I shall deliver this soul to Nirvana. Together with the billowing midnight smoke, rising high into the sky.

Hanyō / 半妖
Nov 2020 / 90 x 120 cm (Height x Width)
https://dolice.design/hanyo
Those beings who possess a mixture of the holy and the demonic in their blood will often find themselves undergoing many trials from God. In this world, there is no right and wrong, no good and evil. In fact, it is the maintenance of an equilibrium between the powers of light and dark which allows this universe to continue to exist. However, for the sake of their own selfish righteousness and faith, humans will take up arms and go into battle with each other. While this is a truly sorrowful thing, it cannot be helped. There is no room for logic here. There is only culture and tradition, which have survived for many centuries. If we possess within ourselves the power and action for conflict, if we continue to struggle with so-called polarizing reactions, then it is nothing else but a challenge mandated to us by God, which we must overcome. When those with polar opposite qualities can unite, merge and harmonize, the agonies within us shall dissipate, and war and strife may disappear from this world.

The Justice of Equality / 平和
Jun 2020 / 69 x 83 cm (Height x Width)
https://dolice.design/the-justice-of-equality
The Japanese title of this artwork is "Peace," and as such a title would suggest, it was created in the hopes for peace. All human beings are equal, and all lives have value. Regardless of country, language, skin color, or whether one is rich or poor, all lives are sacred, precious and irreplaceable. Whether one is a great scholar, or a sinner, whether good or bad, all are born onto this earth equally blessed by God. There is not a single life in this world that has been lost in vain.
