Thinking about new product ideas from irregular and used products
"10,000 creators meet PASS THE BATON" is a 2013 collaborative upcycling project by select recycle shop "PASS THE BATON" and Loftwork which gives the inventory and used items of various manufacturers a second life as more appealing products under the concept of "NEW RECYCLE." Projects were carried out under four themes, including "ohajiki" high grade rice crackers, blue bottles from "Neal's Yard", Rakuda fabric, and the colorful frame offcuts of "JINS" glasses. Design ideas were collected to transform items referred to as B-grade products and dead stock, and the winning work was produced on a commercial basis in cooperation with Ryosuke Uehara and Yoshie Watanabe, the directors of "PASS THE BATON" and "GIGI." It was sold at the "PASS THE BATON" store and web shop.
